  4. 1/4 Cup Plain Yoghurt
  5. 3-4 tbsps Butter: RT/Melted
  6. 2 tbsps Fresh Milk: Boiled and RT
  7. 1 Egg-White: Big
  8. 1.25 Cups Maida/All-purpose flour
  9. 1/2 tbsp Baking Powder
  10. For the Filling:
  11. 1 Apple- Big & Grated
  12. 1 tsp Fresh Lemon Juice
  13. 1 tbsp Butter
  14. 1/2 tbsp Honey
  15. 1-1.5 tbsps Brown Sugar
  16. 1 tsp Cinnamon Powder
  17. For the Glaze:
  18. 1 Egg Yolk- Big
  19. 1-1.5 tsps Fresh Milk: Boiled and RT
  20. as required Garnish: 1-1.5 tbsps White Sesame Seeds- Optional

Steps to make Turkish Apple Pie

  1. Firstly, wash & clean up the apples & then pat them dry- Depending on the size of the apples ๐ŸŽ grate 1-2 Apples with the thicker side of the grater or finely chop it
  2. Set aside by applying some salt & fresh lemon juice, cinnamon & nutmeg powders…Set aside, covering it for about 30 mins time
  3. In the interim: Separate the yolk from the egg & keep them aside, separately for their later use- respectively- Refer to the pics given below ๐Ÿ‘‡๐ŸปWell whisk the egg white with some castor sugar and butter (RT) & Cinnamon Powder, plain yoghurt & fresh lemon juice
  4. Now, in a large mixing bowl: Add in the aforesaid all the Dry ingredients, post sieving them at least twice…Among the wet ingredients- Add in the aforementioned all the measured ingredients and mix everything well together until nicely combined and well blended
  5. Knead the dough, until it forms into a nice & smooth dough…apply a bit of oil all over it & let it rest for about 30-45 mins time before proceeding further with the cooking process…

  7. In the meantime: Let’s cook the well marinated apple filling for the pie…Heat up a frying pan over the medium flame: Add in the butter/EVOO to it & drop in the apple mixture and sautรฉ until its juices are quite dried up
  8. Keep the finely chopped dry fruits ready to drop into the cooked mixture….as & when it’s half cooked & becomes a bit soft, thick & mushy in its consistency….

  10. Once it’s nicely cooked and ready- Ensure that it should remain moist but not at all juicey else the filling would tend to ooze out off the cascade while in the process of baking….
  11. Allow it to cool down completely before furthering of the rest of the cooking process….Uncover the dough & knead it once again on the working surface…dust your hands gently with some flour
  12. Divide the entire dough firstly, into 2 halves & then, each halves into 3 portions- That’ll give us 6 rolls/dough-lets…Take out, one at a time & cover the rest others while working on with the same….

Bake @150C in a preheated oven for about 20-25 mins time or until it’s nicely lightly browned all over & well cooked…Once all done, transfer them immediately to the cooling rack else, if you leave it on the hot baking tray itself- it’d tend to turn out soggy once they’re completely cooled down

Garnish it your own way- In fact, nothing’s better way to garnish it any further since they already look pretty good even before they’re baked out…Serve them onto the serving platters & simply relish the delish as is & when, warm enough and not completely cooled down- However, it’s shelf life’s for about 3-4 days time without even refrigerated
