- 1 Chicken Stock Cube
- 4 Tbs Ketchup/ Tomato Sauce
- 3 Tbs Soy Sauce
Steps to make Jamaican Beef Stew
- Chop Onion, Chilies and 8 sprigs of spring onion.

- Add all your dried ingredients (Salt, pepper, thyme, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, salt and sugar). Also add your pastes (garlic and ginger, crushed ginger)

- Mix altogether and add your meat and mix it all up. Allow to marinate for at least an hour or overnight.


- Heat oil and add your meat to brown. Scrap off the marinade from the beef, either use your hands or a spoon. (Tip: add a few pieces of beef so they can brown evenly). Remove meat and set aside in a separate bowl.


- Add the marinade to the pot and allow to cook.

- Once the marinade becomes translucent, add your beef, stock, water, soy sauce and tomato sauce/ketchup. Allow to cook for 30 minutes with the lid on.

- Once the 30minutes have passed, peel and cut your potatoes into four (4) and add to the stew. Allow to cook for 45 minutes.

- Add your red bell peppers and carrots. Allow to cook for an additional 30minutes. If you’re not happy with the consistency, remove the lid to allow it to get thicker, if not that, then mash one or two of your potato pieces.
